Episode 26: Vinkega - a village with only 4 streets

First aired: Thursday, 5 February 2015 at 17.00 hours

The Importance of Local Vinkega wants to strengthen the interconnection and support the village and its inhabitants. Every year, various activities are organized for young and old. There is also a focus on political and economic developments which have potential or effects on Vinkega.

Vinkega (Stellingwerfs: Vinkege, Frisian: Finkegea) is a village in the municipality Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland. Vinkega has only 4 streets; Noordwolderweg, School Avenue, West Fourth Partenkirchen and the Zuiderweg.

Typical Vinkega is the peace, space and independence of the village. You will find views and wonderful pieces of nature. For example, the Vinkega Vaart Plas and meadows bordered by beautiful canals. Precisely this peace and space speaks to the people so much. And even though it's a village with no nucleus, where most people live far apart, there is a friendly atmosphere.

There are hundreds of villages in the northern provinces and all of them are worth to get the attention. Inbeeld with Roos. Who will be next Roos spontaneously gets in conversation?

Roos gets intouch with the Zuidstroom Vinkega, a horse riding school. The equestrian center consists of 17 acres of land located in Vinkega, it is adjacent to the Drents Friese Wold. Near: Heerenveen, Wolvega, Steenwijk, Oosterwolde Smilde.
