Aalden is a village in the province of Drenthe, located in the municipality of Coevorden. Allden is together with the neighboring village Zweeloo almost entirely, only separated by the Aelderstroom or Westerstroom. The village itself consists of two parts, separated by the Aelderstraat and the thoroughfare.

Aalden is highly focused on tourists. This is mainly due to the presence of bungalow Aelderholt Landal Greenparks and golf course De Gelpenberg. And Roos takes a look behind the scenes.
Golf course De Gelpenberg
The 18- hole golf course, partly in a typical Drenthe forest and moorland has also a beautiful water feature. A golf course with stunning views and beautiful vistas.
The track is located on sandy soil and therefore the whole year well playable.
The first 9 holes are design by Frank Pennink constructed in an undulating landscape of woods, heaths and sand drifts in 1972. In 1992, the expansion to 18 holes was realized on a design by Donald Steel.
In 2011, under the direction of Frank Pont, was a major renovation completed.
