Zwart Wit (Black White) | Episode 27 | Kirsten de Wrede

    Zwart Wit (Black White)

    Episode 27: Kirsten de Wrede

First aired: Tuesday, 3 March 2015 at 17.00 hours

De Wrede is the leader for the “Partij voor de Dieren” in the States Elections and pulls off the city and country to express her concern about nature and the environment. Her party is growing and is well represented in Groningen at provincial and municipal level.

She was once a manager, did graduate studies including philosophy, even got a coveted promotion place to do research on ethics of nano technology, but ultimately she chose for politics.

She comes from a family of entrepreneurs, her family owns the furniture store “De Wrede Meubelen” in Joure. An understanding in the North. Although she raises with her husband three children, there is no one who cuts the meat. Not even on Sunday. They do not eat meat. De Wrede can bring definite thoughts on the production of meat and the economic value of these animals and she knows how to do that.

"The cattle industry is abhorrent and should disappear as quickly as possible," she sounds firmly. De Wrede thinks we should make better use of second-hand stuff, but if that's such a good starting point for the furniture industry is highly questionable. De Wrede does not care that much.
