A portrait of the writer / poet Gerrit Krol. He looks back on his childhood, his career with Shell and the Nam and his literary merits, his relationship with women and his deep love for the North.
He won the P.C. Hooftprijs. The film contains unique private recordings from the archives of the family Krol. The writer stayed for a long time in Venezuela, Nigeria and Curacao. Krol's considerable oeuvre to his name with dozens of novels, essays and poetry.
