Episode 32: Statue of Drenthe
Wednesday, 6 May 2015 at 17.00 hours
Art in public space. The province of Drenthe combines beautiful scenery with setting high artistic images. Why does the province do that? It makes sense to beautify public structures such as bridges, overpasses and roads through the eyes of an artist.
While in the rest of the Netherlands public works are removed and stored in depots, Drenthe just wants more attention for this combination of landscape and visual arts. Director Annabelle Birnie of the Drents Museum explains.
