    The Arnhem-Veenendaal Classic is a major important "city to city" cycling race in the Netherlands. It first took place in 1985. The race was great under the name Veenendaal-Veenendaal. Past triumphed great drivers such as Joop Zoetemelk, Viatcheslav Ekimov, Tom Boonen and Edvald Boasson Hagen. Last year, the Belgian Yves Lampaert won the race because he first crosses the finish by driving away in a leading group of ten men.

    At the 30th edition of the Arnhem-Veenendaal Classic engagements include Wilco Kelderman, Steven Kruijswijk and Barry Markus at the start and will cover a total distance of 200 kilometers. Furthermore, several northern riders are joining as well, such as the favorites Stefan Poutsma (from Drenthe), Elmar Reinders (from Drenthe) and Harry Sweering (from Friesland).
