Today in Puur Noord, 7KM in Martenshoek, Douwe Kool visits the set of Sneekweek the movie, director Theo de Groot is joining us to talk about his new theater play: Timbertown Follies and we learn more about the Turfstekersmarkt in Heerenveen
Sinus Meiring was born and raised in Sappermeer. He is a project leader of the 7KM in Martenshoek since 2013. The 7KM has two purposes, one of them is the test run for the '4 mijl van Groningen', which is held two weeks later and a running event with a distance of 7 kilometers to get as many people as possible moving and raise awareness about health. The start and finish is at the Slauiskade in the centre of Martenshoek. The event is very diverse with many different classes.

In todays vlog Douwe Kool is on the set of 'Sneekweek the movie'. It's a new thriller / comedy. The movie is about 6 friends who visit the Sneekweek to enjoy the party, but they are being taunted from the first night by a psychopath. The release date for the movie is set for next summer, it stars many famous actors like Ferry Doedens, Sanne Langelaar and Marly van der Velden amongst others.

Also joining us today is Theo de Groot, director of the theater play Timbertown Follies. Last year the play already ran in Groningen and now it's Opende's turn. The play is about a cabaret group of British millitairs who were stationed in Groningen during the first world war. The play is spoken in both English and Gronings.

This weekend the Turfstekersmarkt in Heerenveen is back again. In the early eighties of the last century, the Turfstekersmarkt launched and quickly it became a well known market. Esther Rens, owner of the Etos and manager Lenie Soeten of Lederwaren Pasveer always have always been bothered a bit by the fact that the market had disappeared. According to them, people in this time are interested in such events and the Turfstekersmarkt could be a great succes again. The ladies have a heart for Heerenveen and would like the have a buzzing city center.
