Episode 3: From Hoogeveen to EmmenFirst aired: Friday, 18 September 2015 at 18.00 hours
In this episode of In Vogelvlucht you will see the route between Hoogeveen and Emmen from up in the air. We take off from Hoogeveen where we ended last episode and continue our way over the beautiful Drents scenery.
Hoogeveen counts about 55.000 inhabitants and is known for being a place with a lot of urban services that were placed there because they were still missing from the area.
From Hoogeveen we continue our way to Tiendeveen. A village that owes it's name to a contract about digging peat. We also fly over Westerbork. Westerbork is mostly known as a camp from the second world war. Till the destruction in 1971 the camp has been in continuous use and can now be visited by tourists.
We end this episode in Emmen. Emmen is the largest community in Drenthe with almost 110.000 inhabitants. Emmen is recognizable by the football stadium and of course the zoo, 'Dierenpark Emmen'.
