In this episode Annette Timmer talks with Han Steenbruggen about the exhibition Huug Pleysier in museum Belvedere, with Gitte Brugman about photo festival Photo Airport in New York and with Mies van Hout about the picture book for the Children.
Han Steenbruggen is director-curator of the Museum Belvédère in Oranjewoud in Heerenveen. He followed in 2008 by founder Thom Mercuur. Before that Han was 12 years curator of modern art at the Groninger Museum. As head of the “Ploeg-pavilion” he also conducted research. He was promoted to the correspondence between the Squad Painter Wobbe Alkema and Carel Willink.
In Museum Belvédère there is till 13th of December, a presentation of paintings and etchings by Hugh Pleysier, who lived and worked in Friesland and Groningen. The exhibition is part of an exhibition triptych. In the Groninger Museum (t / m October 4th) and Museum Dr8888 (t / m November 8th) shows graph.

Photographer Gitte Brugman graduated in 2008 at the Photo Academy in Amsterdam. She focuses on documentary photography and is also a reporter for the Leeuwarder Courant. She is a monthly guest to tell what its maker as well as viewer stands for in photography. She has just returned from New York where her work and four other photographers from the North was exhibited.

Illustrator Mies van Hout knew at the age of 12 that she wanted to be a cartoonist. Since 1989 she has worked as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. But over the years she started illustrating more and more children's books. She loves to make picture books. Successfully. Funny, in which a series of fish portrays emotions, got a nomination for Jugendliteraturpreis 2013 and was awarded the Children's Retail 2012. It is in fourteen languages and twenty countries appeared. With Boyfriend, a picture book about dealing with conflict, they won the flag and pennant, 2013. Commissioned by the CPNB Mies, the picture book Playground for the Children was made.
