In 'Muziek uit het Noorden' (Music from the North) video clips are broadcasted from artists from the North of the Netherlands. Well known and lesser known artists come along. With a weekly dose of video clips, with something for everyone! In this episode:
Kevin Smit – Vrij Zijn Als Een Vogel (from Drenthe)
What's good, comes quick. That definitely goes for Kevin Smit. The singer from Hoogeveen was only 16 years old when he broke through with his debutsingle 'Morgen wordt alles anders' in 2008. 'Morgen wordt alles anders', written and product by no one else than Edwin van Hoevelaak. From that moment his carreer took a large leap. Kevin signed a record deal with CNR Entertaintment, where his first album (Morgen wordt anders) came out.
Lytse Hille – Als Ik Alles Toch Geweten Had (from Friesland)
Hille de Vries was born on April 6, 1975 in Leeuwarden. On Sundays it was always cozy in his home and the whole family sang together with the radio on. On family party's and weddings people took notice of Hille singing and he got asked to do it a lot. Hille enjoys being on the road to entertain people with his music and songs and he says: I feel like a privileged person because I got to make my passion my job.'.
Jannes – De Hele Nacht Aan Jou Gedacht (from Drenthe)
Jannes will go into the history books as one of the most productive artists from the Netherlands. His specific sound is known all too well by his fans. Nice to sing along to, ripped right from life, happy and a bit melanchonic. But always in surprising ways musically. By now Jannes has sold over 500.000 CD's, made gold and platinum, had a lot of big hits and he's won several music prizes.
Marianne Veenstra - Bloedgroep Diesel (from Groningen)
Marianne Veensta was born in 1986 in the Gronings village Stedum. The cheery chauffeurs daughter learned to sing before she could walk, and chose to follow in her fathers footsteps and become a truck driver as well. Next to working in the truck she was often found on stage. She was the lead singer of country band 'Wild West Wind' for a few years. Her first solo single 'Bloedgroep Diesel' is about life as a chauffeurs daughter. The song was picked up very well nationally by multiple radio stations.
