Episode 47: Edwin RuttenFirst aired: Friday, 23 October 2015 at 18.32 hours
In this episode of Zwart Wit: "Lust for life, putting things in perspective, humor, music and playing", these are the core values he lives by. An interview with a TV-personality who carries ‘the soul of the North’: Edwin Rutten.
The film of Ome Willem has long been of the tube, but Edwin Rutten is still alive and kicking. Born in Groningen he bears, in his own words, the soul of the North. It makes it understandable that he lives in two worlds, in Hilversum and at the slippery mudbanks of the Waddenzee in Oudebildtzijl.
As a boy Rutten spent long summers at the farm in Groningen. He knows the farmers life like no one else; he knows every tractor brand and as a child he helped with the flax harvest.
His versatility and good humor have brought him much, as a jazz musician, TV personality, as someone who practically lives on stage. Rutten: “Lust for life, putting things in perspective, humor, music and playing are the core values ??that I live by." But why does such a positive person live in the dark clay of the often dreary Wad? Rutten: "I love the wind, for me it is a kind of jazz."
