    Episode 5: Erwin Nyhoff

First aired: Friday, 27 November 2015 at 18.00 hours

This week in SoundCHECK! Douwe Kool visits Erwin Nyhoff. He is the former frontman of the band The Prodigal Sons and was a finalist on The Voice Of Holland. Other than that we show nice videoclips and ask people about their 'Golden Oldie'.

In the earlier nineties Erwin Nyhoff took over the Dutch poppodia with his band The Prodigal Sons. With this band he played the biggest Dutch festivals, Pinkpop and Lowlands. He also gets to be the support act for Pearl Jam and Alanis Morisette.

After a few years the band is done playing and Erwin continues as a solo artist. In 2011 he competes in the show The Voice of Holland and gets to the finals.

Today, we're following Erwin during his theater tour 'The Kings of Rock 'N Roll'.

Erwin performs with his band that consists of bass player Dirk Schreuders, keyboard player Len van de Laak and himself on guitar and sing. Douwe asks them how this collaboration came to be and how they're preparing themselves for the show of that night.

    About this program:

Before a musician on stage is, the written press, composed, rehearsed and just before the gig the time comes for the Soundcheck!

Soundcheck is the new music on Podium.TV. We are visiting a wide variety of musicians from the north. (Cover) bands, DJs, Dutch singers and singer-songwriters; musical northern Netherlands is discussed. Where they rehearse and how this is going to? How do you write a new song? And how does a CD presentation?

So we end up in old garages, nostalgic rehearsal rooms, but also in professional studios and tasty busy music venues. Additionally, you can every week to enjoy a wide variety of video clips and a classic "golden oldies" from the old box.

Tip the editors when you know a great band and want more of it as a groupie know.
