    Gerben Okkinga is the founder of communications agency Okkinga Communication, based in the old dairy school in Bolsward. Okkinga did odd jobs for a variety of Frisian organizations, such as Frisian Olympiad and ROC Friese Poort. He is also involved in Bolsward Platform - a platform for involving citizens in politics.

    Gerben Okkinga is the founder of communications agency Okkinga Communications. "I came by chance in the advertising right," he says.

    Okkinga working since 1998 under his own name. "Our creativity is not necessarily distinctive, our culture and people do. We want to help businesses achieve results."

    Now employs 30 people at the desk. "We looked up at the big media agencies in the Randstad, but which have now been shrunk to the same size as our agency," says Okkinga.

    "Okkinga Communications has a broad customer base. With this we have come steady from the crisis."

    The major change in the last five years is that companies have cleaned up their communication budgets. Also, customers do more themselves, and internet plays an increasingly important role. "Websites and newsletters build today's very easy," said Okkinga.
