A nothern man at the worldtop. Nanotechnology Professor Ben Feringa is talking with Jan van Friesland. So far he has all of the prizes to be won above his bed, except one; the Nobel Prize.
Ben Feringa would like to be farmer just like his father. But on the farm in Barger-Compascuum was no place for Ben, let alone that he could succeed: he came from a family with ten children. So he went to school and could learn as the best that he was going to study chemistry.
Meanwhile Feringa is professor of nanotechnology at the University of Groningen. He has developed a molecular motor that can move around: a four wheel drive car made of four molecules. In the future such a car can reach most tiny and difficult places in the body.
Recently, he and his team did a new discovery: drugs that have no side effects because you will pass (with an on and off button) can turn if they have achieved a tumor. So far he has all of the prizes to be won above his bed, except one; the Nobel Prize.
