In this special episode of Toneelmeesters we take a look behind the scenes and on the red carpet during the premiere of the Christmas show 'De Sterren van Bartlehiem' that plays in the Posthuis Theater during the Christmas holidays.
In 2010, the 125th anniversary of the Posthuis theater was celebrated. Therefore, the theater gave Rients Gratama and Clara Rullmann the opportunity to create a Christmas musical. They wrote their own version of the 'Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens. The first performance was a great success and therefore the special Christmas show became an annual happening. This year the sixth edition of their own version of the 'Christmas Carol' will take place. 'De Sterren van Bartlehiem’ has a great cast, with Aart Staartjes and Rients Gratama who represent the spirits of the Old Scrooge & Marley. Elske DeWall plays Charitea plays Scrooge, the great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter of Ebenezer Scrooge. The rest of the roles will be filled by a number of young and adult amateur players from Heerenveen and surroundings.
Our presenter Arno van der Heyden is present during the premiere of the show 'Sterren van Bartlehiem'. We take a look during the rehearsals of the show we talk to the main players and technician Eric Northman. During the premiere of the musical, we see several guests arrive on the red carpet and we talk to the director of the theater. Always exciting such a premiere and we are there to see how this special Christmas musical came together. The show can visited during the Christmas holidays in the Posthuis Theater in Heerenveen.
