    Toneelmeesters

    Episode 21: Schouwburg Ogterop Meppel

First aired: Wednesday, 10 February 2016 at 17.32 hours

Today in Toneelmeesters Arno van der Heyden visits theatre Ogterop in Meppel, where he chats with director Wybrich Kaastra and stage manager Berend Bertelink.

What started as a coffee house and hotel in 1868, has risen as the theatre of Meppel. Although the building has been renovated drastically in 1970, its main stage is still in the authentic Viennese style of 100 years ago, which makes it their show piece. Of course Arno has to take a look, after having a chat with director Wybrich Kaastra in the lobby. Stage manager Berend Bertelink shows him around behind the curtains, he shows the stage bridge and some extraordinary souvenirs from the theatre's past. Meanwhile, band Her Majesty is busy preparing and sound checking for their performance later that night.
