    Soundcheck

    Episode 19: YVI

First aired: Thursday, 17 March 2016 at 17.32 hours

In SoundCHECK! Douwe follow YVI to a beautiful chapel in Leggeloo.

Crititcal towards society, philosophical and of course love songs are written by singer and songwriter Diederick Brandsma. If YVI is playing with the band, the band consists of six members - drums (Sijmen Wijnja), bass (Jonathan Spruyt), keyboards / guitar (Lendert Andel), guitar (Laurens Hof) and guitar (Theun Nijholt) - which brings the music to higher Progressive Alternative Rock settings. The band is mainly inspired by Jeff Buckley, Damien Rice and Steven Wilson. So if you merge Singer-Songwriter, Rock and Alternative, an appealing sound will be created.

The first living room concert of YVI takes place as a part of the tour of Zambia in collaboration with charity event World Servants. The purpose of the tour is to collect money to travel to Zambia, where two teacher houses will be built with the local population. SoundCHECK! was present at this first concert in the beautiful chapel in Leggeloo.

    About this program:

Before a musician on stage is, the written press, composed, rehearsed and just before the gig the time comes for the Soundcheck!

Soundcheck is the new music on Podium.TV. We are visiting a wide variety of musicians from the north. (Cover) bands, DJs, Dutch singers and singer-songwriters; musical northern Netherlands is discussed. Where they rehearse and how this is going to? How do you write a new song? And how does a CD presentation?

So we end up in old garages, nostalgic rehearsal rooms, but also in professional studios and tasty busy music venues. Additionally, you can every week to enjoy a wide variety of video clips and a classic "golden oldies" from the old box.

Tip the editors when you know a great band and want more of it as a groupie know.
