Sneek Wit Zwart finished fifteenth in the regular competition. That means that the team of coach Berry Zandink has to participate in the play offs to prevent relegation from the Topklasse Sunday. In a double confrontation Sneek Wit Zwart needs to deal with Udi ‘19 from Uden.

Soccer: VV Staphorst - FC Lisse
A week ago Staphorst was in the celebrating mood. VV Staphorst won the district’s Cup by beating Flevo Boys with 2-0. However, after the party they switched back to the fighting mode, because the team of Jan van Raalte has a chance to get promoted to the Derde Divisie. If Staphorst manages to beat FC Lisse in two matches, promotion will become a fact.

Basketball: Donar champion of the Netherlands
The Groninger finally beat Zwolle in a best of seven serie with 4-1. Thursday night Zwolle was convincingly beaten by 86-69, thus the title for Donar became a fact.

Running: 4 Mijl van Sneek
On Sunday May 29th the fourth edition of the ‘4 Mijl van Sneek’ was held. A running competition of four miles, through the historical centre of Sneek. The 4 Mijl van Sneek is a match for professional runners and amateurs. The race-course takes contestants over the famous Waterpoort twice. Last year Wilfred van Holst won in the men’s division. The winner of the women’s division was Fleur Baljet.

May has known many highlights in the world of sports. Harkemase Boys became champion of the Hoofdklasse, VV Staphorst won the Cup and the ladies of hockey team GHHC got promoted to the Hoofdklasse.
Sailing: 'Road to Rio': Marit Bouwmeester
In more than two months the Olympic Games start in Rio de Janeiro. Marit Bouwmeester has already been qualified for the Games a while ago. The sailor from Warten has plenty of time to prepare for Rio. In ‘Road to Rio’ we met up with Bouwmeester at a sailing competition in Medemblik.
