Romée van der Zee lives for the bee. As a queen she governs a network of beekeepers and is aware of the ups and downs of each bee colony in North Netherlands.
Van der Zee is regarded as a leading European bee researcher. As a child she was afraid of, but that fear has overcome them. She started as a researcher animals but could not stand the suffering of animals. Then they chose the path of experimental filmmaker. But when she wanted to make a bee parasite and this failed because they did not get the money needed for each other, a film she did have built up a knowledge network of bee experts.
