Koi - Wonder (from Groningen)

KOI is a welcome guest at parties and festivals and is known as a band with mostly exotic and cheerful sounds. Who already had s seen KOI such as at Noorderzon or during the Liberation Festival in Groningen, knows how difficult it is to describe this music. A quirky mix of cumbia, merengue, shanties, ska, klezmer, funk or Balkan music. On the new CD this palette is rich with hints of country, reggae and even electronic beats. Usually cheerful, sometimes melancholy, as they sing in French, German, Spanish, Dutch and many still unheard languages.
