Episode 4: From Emmen to DedemsvaartFirst aired: Friday, 25 September 2015 at 18.00 hours
In this epsiode of 'In Vogelvlucht' we will see the route between Emmen and Dedemsvaart from up in the air. This episode starts in Emmen where we ended last time.
Emmen is the largest community in Drenthe and has almost 110.000 inhabitants. The stadium in Emmen is the home base of FC Emmen and can hold up to 8600 visitors. Emmen's nickname is 'Vlinderstad' based on the zoo, 'Dierenpark Emmen'. We see a lot of greenhouses from up in the air. The greenhouses are near the places Emmen, Klazienaveen and Erica.
Erica used to be a buckwheat colony, and grew to be a village in peatland. The centre was founded at the river and has about 5000 inhabitants. It has sports fields, an icerink, a sports hall and a pool. We als pass Erm, a village in the community Coevorden. South-west of the village is nature and recreation reserve Ermerzand. Recreationpark Emmerstrand is also located here.
In this episode we will fly above Overijssel as well. Amongst others, we pass Hardenberg, a community in the north east of Overijssel that has about 60.000 inhabitants. After that you can see 'Attractiepark Slagharen'. The park consists out of two parts that are connected by the main street with stores and restaurants. The park has more than 30 attractions amongst them are 2 rollercoasters. We're ending this episode in Dedemsvaart. A place that's mostly known for the lime kilns near the river.
