Episode 55: Peter TuinmanFirst aired: Friday, 18 December 2015 at 18.32 hours
Today in Zwart Wit we have actor Peter Tuinman who will to Jan van Friesland about his life. From banker to Baantjer.
Peter Tuinman is actor for both theatre and movies, but he almost never followed this career path. He wanted to shine in athletics and he had talent for it but not enough ambition. By a twist of faith he became director of a store of the Dutch bank 'Nederlandsche Credietbank' in Drachten. There he helped people and businesses get a loan. Because he kept playing small parts at Tryater, the door to playing theatre never closed. And a door that hasn't been closed is disastrous for a bank.
He takes the decision to change the world of ties and loans for wigs and applause. Now he's known for his big stage repetoir with classical pieces like 'Macbeth' and 'Wachten op Godot' and for movies like 'Spetters' and 'Het Meisje Met Het Rode Haar'. For his role in 'De Dream' by Pieter Verhoeff he received a golden kalf.
Now he's making furore as detective De Cock in 'Baantjer', that's in it's second theater season now. The audience can help solve the crime, which often leads to big discussions and loads of hilarity. Not often does De Cock have to join in.
