In this episode of ZwartWit Rikkert Zuiderveld, he's been active as a singer for more than fortyfive years.
Rikkert Zuiderveld grew up in a family of teachers in 'het Gooi'. As a kid he came to Drenthe often because his family had a farm there and his grandpa had a forge in Roden. As a kid he loved the megaliths and wondered how those huge stones were ever put there by humans. A small wonder, a mystery. He was so fascinated by this that he, because of his love for the prehistory, went on to study history in Amsterdam. There, he met Elly and then everything changed. A friend take them to his shows and suddenly they were on stage together themselves. Elly and Rikkert are a concept on a lot of Dutch and Belgium stages.
There was a moment when faith came into their lives and that they as 'reborn christians' sang about Jesus at their concerts. This year they did a show in Carré to honor their fortyfive years together as artists. The love for the Drenths scenery never left Rikkert. He's committed to keep the dreamy old sandpaths in Drenthe. He also writes a sonnet for the EO-Radio every week.
