Episode 130: Soccer, basketball and korfballFirst aired: Monday, 9 May 2016 at 17.00 hours
In this episode a spotlight on soccer, because it was an important weekend: summaries of Harkemase Boys – ACV, VV Staphorst – Drachtster Boys, Sneek Wit Zwart – OJC Rosmalen and HHC Hardenberg – FC Lisse. In addition, the basketball match between Donar – Leiden and the korfball match LDODK – Fortuna.
Soccer: Harkemase Boys – ACV
Harkemase Boys has had three opportunities to become champion, unfortunately they didn't work out. At home against ACV from Assen a victory would be sufficient to grab the title. However, that's not an easy task, because ACV is in third place and has earned 25 points after the winter break.
Soccer: VV Staphorst - Drachtster Boys
The duel between VV Staphorst and Drachtster Boys is a match nothing much is at stake anymore. Staphorst is guaranteed of the second place and will play promotion/relegation matches to get promoted to the Third Division. Theoretically speaking, the team of Jan van Raalte still has a chance to become champion, provided that Harkemase Boys loses points. Drachtster Boys has relegated already and will play in a lower division next season.
Voetbal: Sneek Wit Zwart - OJC Rosmalen
Because of the dropout of WKE, no club will relegate directly from Sunday's Topklasse. One team has to play promotion-relegation matches and Sneek Wit Zwart will do anything to avoid those duels. The team of Berry Zandink has to climb one more spot. Yesterday Sneek Wit Zwart had to play against OJC Rosmalen. That team is one place ahead of Sneek with an advantage of 3 points.
Soccer: HHC Hardenberg - FC Lisse
Anything is possible in Saturday's Topklasse. Three teams still have a chance to become champion, among them is HHC Hardenberg. The arrear on frontrunner Excelsior Maassluis is only 1 point. At home, HHC Hardenberg must win against FC Lisse, in order to stay in the race. In theory, that shouldn't be too difficult, because FC Lisse is next-to-last in the rankings.
Basketball: Donar – Leiden
Donar wants to become the national champion this season. In order to reach the final, the team from Groningen has to deal with Leiden in the semifinals. The team that wins four matches first, will be qualified for the finals. On Saturday night the fourth match took place in MartiniPlaza.
Korfbal: LDODK – Fortuna
LDODK is doing well on field. The team of coach Erik Wolsink is in second place in the competition, two points behind frontrunner Fortuna. Yesterday LDODK and Fortuna met in Gorredijk. If LDODK wants to earn the title, they have to win from the team from Delft.
